SWADESH

The organization’s work is vital in empowering underserved communities, promoting sustainable development, women’s empowerment, education, and health, fostering a more inclusive and equitable society.

SWADESH is a non-profit organization established in 2008 in Ichak, Jharkhand. We operate in several regions including Ichak, Padma, Badkagown, Keredari, Sadar, Barhi, Barkatha (Hazaribagh), Itkhori (Chatra), Chitarpur, Mandu (Ramghar), and Chandwara (Koderma). Our mission is to empower marginalized communities and promote sustainable development.
We focus on empowering people’s organizations through participatory processes. We introduce innovative tools and technologies to farmers, ensuring food security and ecological balance through watershed management.
SWADESH is committed to promoting women’s economic viability, supporting their independence. We also work towards ensuring dignity and respect for senior citizens.
Our organization regenerates knowledge and skills for isolated communities, offering them opportunities for growth. We focus on educating adolescent girls, neglected children, and child laborers. …

Celebrating Women's Empowerment on International Women's Day

On the occasion of International Women's Day, we proudly participated in a special event organized by NABARD, showcasing the incredible talents and products made by women. Our stall was honored by the visit of the Hon'ble Minister of Panchayati Raj, Government of Jharkhand, Deepika Pandey Singh, along with the CGM NABARD RO Ranchi. Their appreciation for the women-led products highlighted the strength and creativity of our women entrepreneurs. It was a day of celebration, recognition, and empowerment, as we continue to support women in achieving economic independence and dignity.

Meeting with Women on Setting Up a Small Production Unit

A meeting was organized with women in Saraiya Panchayat of Padma Block to discuss the construction of a small production unit building. During the session, women actively shared their ideas and suggestions, expressing interest in contributing to the development and functioning of the unit. This initiative marks an important step towards women’s empowerment and economic self-reliance.

Inauguration of 15-Day Bamboo Craft Training Program

With CSR support from NTPC, SWADESH launched a 15-day bamboo craft training program for Self-Help Group (SHG) women in Birhor Colony village, Pagar, Keredari Block, Hazaribagh. The program was inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Chief Guest, NTPC officials, Keredari Block Head Sunita Devi, Panchayat Samiti Member Mahendra Rajak, and SWADESH Secretary Sudhir Kumar. This initiative aims to empower women by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through skill development in bamboo artistry.

Inauguration of Woodcraft Refresher Training

In Saraiya, Padma Block, we inaugurated a woodcraft refresher training and laid the foundation for new machinery under NABARD's LEDP program. Trainees from Padma, Ichak, and Sadar blocks actively participated in the event. The program was formally inaugurated with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Padma Block Pramukh Satendra Rana, Mukhia Shanti Devi, BPM of JSLPS, and SWADESH Secretary Sudhir Kumar. This initiative aims to enhance the skills of rural artisans and support sustainable livelihoods.

Closing Ceremony of Wooden Craft LEDP 3rd Batch

The closing ceremony of the Wooden Craft LEDP 3rd Batch in Padma Block, Hazaribagh district, marked a significant milestone in empowering rural artisans. Participants, who underwent intensive training, showcased their crafted products, reflecting the skills and techniques they acquired.
The event celebrated the hard work and dedication of the trainees, with the aim of promoting sustainable livelihoods through craftsmanship. SWADESH Organization remains committed to enhancing the lives of local communities and fostering self-reliance.

Showcases Wooden Craft at "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra

The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra program was held at the Bonga Panchayat Bhavan in Ichak, with the esteemed presence of Annapurna Devi, Union Minister of State for Education, as the Chief Guest.
SWADESH, in collaboration with NABARD, set up a stall featuring Wooden Craft as part of the LEDP Program (Livelihood and Enterprise Development Program). Minister Annapurna Devi visited the stall and praised the craftsmanship displayed.
Additionally, the stall was visited by several dignitaries, including Umesh Prasad Mehta, District Council President, Amit Kumar Yadav, MLA from Barkatha, senior BJP leader Bateshwar Mehta, and Prem Prakash Singh, DDM of NABARD Hazaribagh. They appreciated the creativity and potential of the wooden craft materials showcased at the stall.
